Here are the top scholarships open for international students to study in Finland.
    • 1. University of Helsinki Scholarships for International Students The University of Helsinki offers one of the best scholarships in New Zealand for international students. The scholarship program is for excellent students who want to pursue a Master’s program at the University of Helsinki. It is a Fully Funded scholarship that includes a tuition fee grant and 10000 EUR. The scholarship is granted for two years. Depending on your first-year studies progress, the continuation of the scholarship will be decided.

University of Tampere Scholarships for International Students The University of Tampere offers scholarships to international students studying for a Masters degree in English at their campus. Also, plenty of scholarships are available for the most talented fee-paying international students. There are two types of scholarship categories.
      • The University of Tampere tuition fee scholarships - This scholarship program funds either 100% or 50% of your tuition fees.
      • The University of Tampere global student award for academic excellence scholarships - This scholarship program funds 100% of the tuition fees and also gives 7,000 EUR per year for the living expenses of the student.

University of Oulu International Scholarships The University of Oulu offers scholarships to academically excellent international students studying graduate or postgraduate degrees on their campus. It is for 2-year International Masters Programmes or 5-year International Bachelor’s Programmes. The scholarship is granted in the form of a tuition fee waiver which covers 50%, 75% or 100% of the tuition fee once you have completed your first study year. To keep the continuity of scholarship in the following year of study, you must have earned a minimum of 60 credits by the end of the previous academic year.

Protein Science International Masters Scholarship at University of Oulu At the University of Oulu, the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine has established a Protein Science International Master’s Scholarship Programme. It offers scholarships to exceptionally talented international students who want to pursue a master’s in Protein Science and Biotechnology at the University of Oulu. There is a maximum of 15 slots available on the Protein Science and Biotechnology international Master’s program. Also, Protein Science International Master’s scholarships are 15. The scholarship is offered for a maximum of 2 years.
    • 5. University of Helsinki International Student Scholarship Grant The University of Helsinki offers an International Student Grant. It is giving about 50 start-up grants to eligible students who are accepted to study in an International Master’s Degree Programme at their campus. The amount of each grant will be EUR 1000 to 1500 EUR.
    • 6. Aalto University Scholarship Aalto University offers several full scholarships for international students studying Master’s programs in English at their campus. The scholarships will be awarded based on the previous academic records. The duration of the scholarship will depend on your full-time study length. For the bachelor’s degree, it will be 3 years and 2 years for the master’s degree. The scholarships are divided into multiple categories. The scholarship provides a monthly allowance of EUR 1500. This grant does not cover any transportation expenses, tuition, or insurance. CIMO Doctoral Fellowship for International Students The Centre for International Mobility (CIMO) offers Doctoral and Double Doctoral Fellowships for international students at a Finnish university. The value of the fellowship is 1500 EUR per month. The duration is 3 to 12 months. The scholarship program is open to students of any nationality. The fellowship money supports the students with their living expenses and not the tuition and travel expenses. The candidates are recommended to apply at least 5 months before their program is due to start. Decisions on the scholarships will be made in around 3 months once the application is submitted.
    • 9. EDUFI Fellowships Program for Young Doctoral Students The EDUFI Fellowships program in Finland is for Doctoral level students and researchers hailing any academic fields. The monthly allowance is 1500 Euros. The scholarship can cover living expenses in Finland for a single person.
    • 10. University of Turku Postdoctoral Research in Science and Medicine The University of Turku is a world-class research university that offers Postdoctoral Scholarships. The scholarship is given to 5 students every year. The duration of it is 5 years. During this period the researchers will get a monthly salary of around 3000 EUR. However, the performance and progress of the researcher will be taken into account while deciding upon a salary.
    • 11. University of Vaasa Scholarships The University of Vaasa offers scholarships to international students to help them support their studies in Finland. You can apply for these scholarships in Finland during your university admission process. There are 2 types of scholarships open for international students. One is the first-year scholarship given to students with an excellent academic record and second-year scholarships are given to full-time students. They will be awarded a 50% tuition fee discount.
